Therapy is a process of exploration and discovery. Together, we gently uncover and make sense of emotions that may have been buried or avoided, creating space for clarity and healing. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, steady environment where you feel supported in sharing your story — even the parts that feel painful — trusting that growth is possible on the other side. My style is warm, humorous, and direct, helping clients feel both comfortable and thoughtfully challenged as they begin to recognize and shift the patterns that may be keeping them stuck.

Therapy begins with intention. What brings you here, and what feels important to change? Without clarity around your goals, sessions can easily become weekly check-ins rather than meaningful movement forward. I believe therapy should be purposeful and growth-oriented, with the hope that over time you feel more confident, resilient, and equipped to navigate life on your own. Ultimately, my role is to help you build the insight and internal strength you need so that you no longer require therapy in the same way. While growth often asks us to face what feels uncomfortable, it also depends on trust. It can take time and patience to feel safe enough to reveal the more vulnerable parts of yourself, and building that safety is foundational to our work together.

My approach integrates emotion-focused therapy (EFT), trauma treatment through EMDR, and psychodynamic depth work. In EFT, we go beyond simply talking about feelings — we learn to experience, tolerate, regulate, and make meaningful use of them. Emotions themselves are not the problem; difficulty managing and understanding them is what often keeps people stuck. In our work, you will have the opportunity to safely experience emotions as they arise, discovering firsthand how greater awareness leads to flexibility and resilience.

When trauma or persistent negative self-beliefs are present, I incorporate EMDR to help reprocess experiences that may be reinforcing painful patterns in the present. EMDR allows the brain to metabolize past events in a way that reduces their emotional charge, creating space for new, more adaptive beliefs to emerge.

Psychodynamic depth work forms the foundation of my practice. Understanding your story — your early attachments, formative experiences, and relational patterns — helps us view longstanding beliefs and themes through a compassionate and informed lens. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes part of the healing process, offering an opportunity to practice trust, repair, and secure attachment in real time.

I believe deeply in this work. I believe change is possible because I have witnessed it time and again — and experienced it personally. There is nothing more meaningful to me than walking alongside someone as they move toward greater clarity, strength, joy, and serenity. If you are here, you have already taken a courageous first step toward a more conscious and self-assured way of living.

ABOUT ME

EXPERIENCE

When I consider my work experience thus far, I think about what I have learned and how I have grown in each role.  18 years ago during my first position in the field, out of undergrad, I was working with the elderly; it allowed me to learn the arts of patience, compassion, and advocacy. I was taught how to develop a program, gather appropriate data for grant writing, and ultimately, how to manage a team.

My adult caseload within the community mental health setting helped me to better understand the personal challenges which had created barriers in their lives. Through this experience, I feel confident employing a multidisciplinary approach in working with individuals exhibiting a wide range of diagnostic conditions, crisis management, and engagement with those most resistant to treatment.

My internship, and later my role in a grant-funded connection project, aided me to feel comfortable working with an inpatient population.  Connecting with individuals at their most vulnerable proved to be challenging, but also one of my most rewarding jobs.  This instilled in me the importance of a thorough safety assessment, and a time-limited need to connect.

As an EAP counselor, I honed in on my crisis management skills, having the ability to remain calm in an emergency and offer in-the-moment supports.  This role allowed me to work under two umbrellas simultaneously—the client, and their employer.

Being a group fitness instructor took me out of my comfort zone, increasing my ease in public speaking and flexing an extrovert muscle that is typically weak for me.

My recent efforts with college-age students have reminded me just how difficult the transition between high school and the world, between youth and adulthood, can be. Navigating those decisions, molding a new identity, and learning about responsibility: these challenges require empathy and encouragement.

Fees & Payments

I do not participate directly with insurance companies. One reason is that the managed care process—submitting claims, seeking authorizations, and managing reimbursements—can be complex and time-consuming. Additionally, insurance providers often require detailed personal and clinical information, which then becomes part of your permanent medical record and may be accessed in situations such as disability or life insurance applications.

By not working directly with insurance companies, I am able to protect your privacy and devote more time and attention to providing thoughtful, individualized care.

For clients who wish to seek reimbursement through their insurance, I can provide a monthly receipt (superbill) as an out-of-network provider that you may submit to your insurance company.

Fees

Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes.
The fee for a session is $150.

Sliding scale rates may be available in certain circumstances based on financial need.

Longer sessions can be arranged when clinically appropriate, and fees will be adjusted based on the length of the session.

Payment

I accept cash, check, or credit card (processed securely through Square).

Cancellation Policy

I request 24 hours’ notice for cancellations whenever possible.

The first two late cancellations will incur a $70 fee. After that, late cancellations and missed appointments will be charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency.

How do you ensure privacy and confidentiality?

Confidentiality and privacy are taken very seriously.  Anything spoken about in session remains between you and I. There are some exceptions to this:

  1. If you disclose that you are going to hurt yourself or someone else, I must break confidentiality to get you immediate support via an evaluation for higher level care.

  2. If you disclose any current child abuse, I must report this to the state as part of my licensure.

  3. If you request any information to be shared with a third party, we will complete a Release of Information form together and decide what information specifically you want me to share.
